Roche Diagnostics Supports Equality Act

Revised March 16, 2023; originally published June 15, 2021

At Roche Diagnostics, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to live authentically at work, at home and in our communities. We proudly support the Equality Act and the efforts of Freedom for All Americans to raise awareness of this legislation. That’s why we’ve signed a corporate letter with 100-plus other Indiana businesses that addresses this legislation and U.S. senators set to vote on it.

We believe in shaping an increasingly inclusive culture, one that fosters equality and diversity with respect to each other and the people we serve. Once turned into law, the Equality Act (H.R. 5), which awaits a vote in the U.S. Senate. will afford protections to LGBTQ+ persons in new and meaningful ways that Roche has long supported.

Roche does not tolerate discrimination or hatred in any form against anyone. We believe it’s past time to protect everyone’s civil rights at the federal level—and we will continue to work closely with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders to champion legislation that creates a more equitable society for all.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, the country’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate equality policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. At the same time, we look forward to continued advancements, as a company and as a country, in parity for the LGBTQ+ community.

We also remain committed to providing an inclusive environment in which everyone—regardless of sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, race, color, religion, nationality and disability—can contribute to the important work we do to serve patients. Creating a working environment where all our employees feel empowered and safe to bring their authentic selves to work is paramount to our purpose-driven culture. We look forward to continuing this journey.
