Overview

Amplification of DNA fragments by DNA polymerase to produce millions of copies

PCR (polymerase chain reaction) utilizes the ability of naturally occurring DNA polymerases to extend short single-stranded primers that hybridize to the target template DNA. Despite its wide utility, most commercially available PCR reagents are remarkably similar, with any performance difference among them being attributed to differences in buffer formulation or enzyme concentration. These reagents contain wild-type enzymes, isolated from nature without modification. Roche offers the KAPA PCR reagents containing DNA polymerase and other enzymes selected through our directed evolution technology to deliver high-quality results for specific PCR applications.

Roche offers the KAPA PCR reagents optimally suited for a variety of applications. KAPA HiFi PCR Kits , which use KAPA HiFi DNA Polymerase engineered for high fidelity and robustness, are used specifically for library amplification.
