New report on data-driven innovation in healthcare by Harvard Business Review Analytic Services and sponsored by Roche

Ninety-five (95%) percent of healthcare leaders say it is very important to manage data across care settings, but only 19% claim their organization is successful at this today, according to a new survey of 700+ healthcare leaders worldwide. 

The study, developed by Harvard Business Review Analytic Services and sponsored by Roche, outlines the opportunities and challenges facing healthcare organizations today when generating, aggregating, integrating and interpreting data.

Laboratories today are the engine of digital transformation in healthcare as the data they generate can influence up to 60-70% of clinical decision making.1 Globally, laboratories using Roche products generated more than 20 billion test results in 2018 – real world data that help labs create value for the physicians and patients they serve2 and supports the move to truly individualized care. 

The future of innovation in healthcare diagnosis and treatment resides in technologies already available today. Integrating data-based platforms can generate new insights for potentially improving delivery of care and quality of patient care. Yet the full potential of analytics, machine learning and other digital tools is not yet entirely understood, nor sufficiently valued, and often overlooked.
