With a population of 215.3 million in 2020, improving Pakistan’s healthcare infrastructure has been a priority as a signatory to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. With a non-communicable disease mortality rate of 60%, local health authorities are also exploring ways to curb the rising burden of such diseases.
We significantly boosted Pakistan’s testing capacity by installing seven new testing instruments – in addition to six existing ones – and making seven different assays available immediately, and shared knowledge around COVID-19 diagnostic testing, critical care parameters and biosafety lab standards with the key medical organisations such as the World Health Organization’s Pakistan chapter.
