Title: Use of the Ventana PD-L1 (SP142) IHC Assay in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Speaker: Denise Croix, PhD., Scientific Affairs Manager, Medical and Scientific Affairs, Roche Diagnostics Corporation
Description: Immune checkpoint blockades (i.e anti-PD-L1 or anti-PD-1 therapies) have gained use in the last few years as powerful tools for treating multiple types of cancer.  Some of these cancer types require patient specimens to be tested for their PD-L1 levels prior to receiving the therapy. The VENTANA PD-L1 SP142 assay recently received companion diagnostic status to determine eligibility of triple negative breast carcinoma patients for treatment with atezolizumab.  This short presentation will provide an overview on how to assess PD-L1 levels in triple negative breast carcinoma patients.
