Upgrade your cobas® liat system software from version 3.2.0 to 3.3.1

Your USB flash drive must meet these requirements:

• Only use script packages that were delivered by a Roche trusted contact such as this website or your Roche Service Network professional
• Ensure your computer system has up-to-date malware protection installed before downloading the software from any digital source and putting it on a USB.
• Use this USB flash drive only for installing the script on a cobas® liat system . It should be used for no other purpose.
• Do not try to open the items on the USB flash drive (e.g., using a computer).
• You may use a pin-lockable USB flash drive if additional security is required.

1. Right Click the Update Package link below and save to your preferred location (Do NOT save this file to your USB). For Internet Explorer, right click and select Save Target As… For other browsers select Save Link As...
   

Update Package: Version 3.3.1 for updating from Software v 3.2.0

2. Once the download is complete, double click CobasLiat_3.3.1 For SW v3.2.0.zip to open.

3. Select all 3 files, and copy to your USB flash drive.

4. Verify all 3 files are located on your USB flash drive.

Note: The update package must be in the root directory of the USB flash drive (exactly as shown in the image below) in order for the software to install correctly on an analyzer.

1. Log into your cobas® liat system as an ADMIN user.

2. Ensure all patient results have been exported and deleted from the cobas® liat system prior to installing the update. From the Main screen, choose Results. Then select Filter and choose All Files. There should be no results displayed.

If results are present, follow the instructions below to export and delete results:

1. From the Main screen, choose Results. Choose the Filter button. 
2. Use the arrow up and down navigation buttons to select Export and Delete Results. Choose the Next button. 
3. Select Export and Delete all results, and choose OK. 
4. Choose your export location, typically USB Key, and choose the Select button.

Note: You may use any USB flash drive to export your results; with this function you are not limited to only an Advanced Tools Key.

5. Insert your USB flash drive and choose OK.
6. On the message dialog box, choose the Yes button to confirm that this is the correct criterion and that you want to export and delete all results that meet this criterion.
   
7. When the operation has completed, choose OK.

3. From the Main screen, insert your prepared USB flash drive at the rear of the analyzer.

A message dialog box will automatically open after the drive is inserted. Follow the on screen prompts for software installation. 

4. Choose Continue.

5. Follow the dialog box: Remove the USB flash drive. Wait 5 seconds. Then choose Close. 

6. When a message is displayed that the analyzer can be updated, choose the Update button. This update of the analyzer software may take a long time (up to 60 minutes).

7. Restart the analyzer when prompted.

8. After successful restart, you are prompted to calibrate the screen by following the on-screen instructions.

9. Log on to the analyzer.

10. Confirm the analyzer date and time are correct. Choose Settings and System. Select Date and Time to confirm.

After installing the new software update, activation is required by the user. The new software must be registered through activation within 30 days. You can use the unregistered software during the 30-day registration period. However, once this period has expired, the analyzer is locked for testing until the activation has been completed. To register your update, follow the steps below. 

1. Obtain your registration code from the cobas® liat system. 

• If a message is displayed, choose the Activate button. 
• From the message dialog box, note the registration code.
• If no message is displayed, from the Main screen, choose Settings > System information. 
  
• From the System information screen, note the registration code.
  

2. Follow the link below to obtain your activation code. 

• https://liatactivation.dialog.roche.com
• Select Software Activation.
• Type in your registration code.
• Enter your email address. Your activation code will be emailed to you. Print the Activation barcode, or note the activation code provided.

3. On the System information screen, choose the Activate button.

• Enter or scan the activation code and choose the Enter button.
• When a message indicating successful software activation is displayed, choose the Confirm button.
