Your USB flash drive must meet these requirements:

*The USB should be formatted prior to copying the update package onto it. Please confirm your USB is empty prior to formatting. To format your USB flash drive:

Note: The update package must be in the root directory of the USB flash drive (exactly as shown in the image below) in order for the software to install correctly on an analyzer.
Log into your cobas® liat system as an ADMIN user.
Ensure all patient results have been exported and deleted from the cobas® liat system prior to installing the update. From the Main screen, choose Results. Then select Filter and choose All Files. There should be no results displayed.
If results are present, follow the instructions below to export and delete results:
Note: You may use any USB flash drive to export your results; with this function you are not limited to only an Advanced Tools Key.
From the Main screen, insert your prepared USB flash drive at the rear of the analyzer.
A message dialog box will automatically open after the drive is inserted. Follow the on screen prompts for software installation.
Choose Continue.
Follow the dialog box: Remove the USB flash drive. Wait 5 seconds. Then choose Close.
When a message is displayed that the analyzer can be updated, choose the Update button. This update of the analyzer software may take a long time (up to 60 minutes).
Restart the analyzer when prompted.
After successful restart, you are prompted to calibrate the screen by following the on-screen instructions.
Log on to the analyzer.
Confirm the analyzer date and time are correct. Choose Settings and System. Select Date and Time to confirm.
After installing the new software update, activation is required by the user. The new software must be registered through activation within 30 days. You can use the unregistered software during the 30-day registration period. However, once this period has expired, the analyzer is locked for testing until the activation has been completed. To register your update, follow the steps below.
