Patient samples are the most important asset in the lab, and each sample is unique, with its own characteristics and processing requirements. cobas p 512 and 612 perform a comprehensive inspection of sample’s quality at an early stage, for an overall optimization of lab workflow. A complete assessment is performed, including sample quality check and spin status detection, ensuring that the tube is moving accurately to the next step, saving time and reagents.

The systems handle the sample with improved smoothness of movement. Without compromising safety or space, the cobas p 512 and 612 deliver more throughput, up to 1400 samples per hour.

cobas p 512 and 612 allow convenient sample loading, either by using the cobas® BLIM or a freely definable input area for rack samples. The cobas BLIM offers priority loading for faster sample processing and even allows you to automate sample loading when connected to a pneumatic tube system.

Centrifugation is always an option that can be added at any time.

A laser measures the spin status, the liquid level, and the liquid volume through three barcode labels. Automated spin status is key to detect if blood samples have already been centrifuged or not, preventing unspun samples from being incorrectly sent for testing. cobas p 512 and 612 use a high-definition camera to identify the sample’s quality, enabling timely decision making. All samples are photographed and transferred to the navify® digital solutions for easy access to crucial data.

Automated decapping prevents exposing lab staff to biohazard materials, various caps can be used. Hemoguard pull-off caps or rubber stoppers can be used simultaneously and are removed with a twist and pull motion to prevent buildup of aerosols. cobas p 512 and 612 have a proven high-quality, aliquoting system developed from the Roche high-end system for molecular diagnostic testing.

The air displacement technology guarantees safe aliquoting and reduced maintenance. As a solution compatible with all lab disciplines, it can be placed in both clinical labs and blood banks.
