How to update your meter
The following steps describe the firmware update process for the CoaguChek® INRange system with a USB cable.
Prerequisites
- CoaguChek® INRange meter
- USB Type-A to Micro-USB cable (included in package)
- Full AAA Batteries (Alkaline)
- Windows or Mac Computer
- Firmware file provided on this page
Release note and firmware

The firmware has been released by Roche Diagnostics in all countries accepting the CE mark. Roche Diagnostics is committed to seek regulatory clearance in all countries where the CoaguChek® INRange meter is offered.
Follow the steps below to update your device
Prepare meter for firmware update

- Insert batteries
- Power on CoaguChek® INRange meter, press on/off button

- Go to Menu > Other, press arrow down button
- Select Menu > Other, press enter button

- Go to Firmware Update, press arrow down button
- Select Firmware Update, press enter button
Connect meter to the computer
2.1
- Make sure the computer is powered on and the user is logged on
- Connect the micro-USB cable to the meter

- Connect the micro-USB cable to the computer
- Display on meter will show "For Firmware Update copy file to INRange-Drive"
Copy the update file to the meter
3.1
- Download the update file from the software portal to your computer (if not already done)
- Make sure to unzip the update file first
- Locate the update file in Windows Explorer or Finder (Mac)
- Select the update file, for example "Update0l.04.12-YT.znu"
- Right click on the update file "Update0I .04.12-YT.znu" and select "Copy"

- Locate your CoaguChek® INRange meter in your Windows Explorer or Finder (Mac). It will be displayed as a local drive, for example like a USB memory stick

- Select your CoaguChek® INRange meter in your Windows Explorer or Finder (Mac)
- Right click inside CoaguChek® INRange folder and select "Paste"

- The update process has started

- The CoaguChek® INRange will execute the update automatically within several minutes
- The display will automatically change during the update process
Verify the firmware version
4.1
- Wait until the meter automatically powers off after the update process
- Turn on the meter. Press on/off button
4.2
- Go to Menu > Other, press the arrow down button
- Select Menu > Other, press the enter button
4.3
- Select About, press the enter button
- Check for correct firmware version, for example "Update01.04.12-YT"
If the firmware listed on the display is still the old version, the update has failed. Please try again to update the CoaguChek® INRange meter by repeating the steps described. Please contact Roche Diagnostics, if the update keeps failing.
