The VENTANA DP® 200 slide scanner is a computer and imaging-based device that has the capability to scan, digitize, compress, store, retrieve, and view digitized images of slide specimens. When used with VENTANA Image Viewer, the VENTANA DP 200 slide scanner provides automated digital slide creation, management, and viewing capabilities to aid pathologists with in-vitro examination of human tissue specimens.

Designed for a variety of applications, the VENTANA DP 200 slide scanner is a six-slide high-speed brightfield scanner with excellent image quality to enhance pathologists' review of digital slides. This fast and easy-to-use high-resolution slide scanner offers a no-touch start process, an intuitive user interface, and is well-suited for remote site scanning, first-time digital pathology users, frozen section scanning, and more.

The VENTANA DP 200 has automatic calibrations and built-in diagnostics to deliver consistent, robust system performance. Slides are loaded and scanned using a tray-based system, which eliminates slide-handling errors and improves reliability.

The VENTANA DP 200 produces high-resolution digital images for various tissue types, including challenging slides such as frozen sections. Dynamic focus technology and innovative optics create high quality images with color reproduction that maps to glass slides as seen under microscopes.

  • Color management: Uses International Color Consortium (ICC) color standard profile generation in every scan
  • Dynamic focus: Tracks tissue depth in real time and uses the data for high resolution slide scanning
  • Calibration: Automatic white balance calibration to ensure consistent image quality

The VENTANA DP 200 slide scanner is DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) compatible. The scanner provides a standardized output file format for interoperability with PACS servers. Output file formats include BIF, TIF, and DICOM.
