Can you provide some background on Roche Integrated Solutions?

Roche Diagnostics is a global leader in diagnostic tools and technologies, with labs across the world using our equipment and tests to power their discovery processes. We’re sometimes seen as a technology vendor, but we've seen our relationship develop with labs, and today, our customers consider us a strategic partner.

We understand lab managers' challenges, including ensuring things run efficiently, managing compliance (UKAS accreditation) and keeping control of budgets. Integration between technologies, software and systems is essential to capture and capitalise on all the data that is being produced.

Finally, organisations also need to attract and retain staff in an increasingly competitive environment, and Roche Integrated Solutions can play a part in helping them achieve that.

What are the common problems you see in the labs you work with?

We see that labs are doing incredible work, but working in silos can limit performance. Most labs have added new technologies, but these solutions aren't harmonised. These barriers aren’t just experienced in analytics, automation, and digital solutions; they can extend to the supply chain too.

Workflows can become disjointed, and data can become isolated. We can also see that labs are still performing many manual processes that can be automated and optimised. This limits their ability to focus on activities that can add greater value.

What is Roche Integrated Solutions?

Roche Integrated Solutions is a framework that enables us to support lab managers in transforming their work. There are three components: laboratory systems, digital solutions and services.

Roche Diagnostics can fully integrate labs, expanding the efficiency, scope and quality of services. Our systems and assays enable greater automation, reducing manual processes. All Roche Diagnostics systems and solutions are integrated, providing end-to-end data and analytics, enabling organisations to use all data created and captured. The navify® portfolio provides a variety of digital solutions to manage and analyse that data, providing meaningful insights as a result.

We have expert consultants who can support the design, implementation, embedding and optimisation of new ways of working. Our support enables you to unlock efficacies and futureproof your lab.

It's clear that the Roche solution is more than technology. Can you describe how it works?

We understand that no two labs are the same. We spend time understanding what your lab needs. Exploring your lab and organisation's unique goals, challenges, and aspirations will enable us to develop and implement a solution that's right for you.

Once the solution has been implemented, our consultants and experts work closely to embed and optimise the service. It's about delivering the benefits for your lab and supporting the transition to new ways of working. We're bringing the concept of a connected lab to life. There will inevitably be challenges, but we'll work through these together.

Labs are often in competition for limited resources, but with our support, you can remain competitive. The ability to build on what was initially implemented and create a continual improvement process can help your lab stay ahead of the competition. As one of the world's leading research suppliers, we're uniquely placed to do this.

How can Roche Integrated Solutions secure the future of labs?

Integration is essential. We believe that no lab is truly integrated without the presence of all three elements: lab systems, digital solutions and services. It's more than having these things; they must be designed to work together. From lab systems (assays, analysers, automation) to digital solutions (including middleware and business intelligence to provide digital infrastructure and drive operational effectiveness and medical insights) and services.

The power of Roche Integrated Solutions is that each element has been designed from concept to work with the others. This is what makes it unique.

We seamlessly connect different laboratory disciplines through a bespoke mix of products and services, creating a smart, integrated solution. Add to this our innovative and broad navify® digital suite and our comprehensive support services that deliver information anywhere, anytime.

This combination of tools, technologies, services and solutions offered by Roche Diagnostics has the power to transform how your lab works today and tomorrow.
