Dr. Ballantyne is the Chief of the Section of Cardiology and the Section of Cardiovascular Research at Baylor College of Medicine. An internationally recognised expert on lipids, atherosclerosis and heart disease prevention, he has played a pivotal role in the research and development of novel biomarkers and therapeutics. He is a highly cited researcher whose work focuses on the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis and the integration of genetic and biomarker data to improve cardiovascular risk prediction.
