Etienne Cavalier
Professor of Clinical Chemistry and Head of the Department of Clinical Chemistry of the University Hospital of Liege
Etienne Cavalier graduated with a master in pharmaceutical sciences in 1994 and advanced master in clinical biology in 1999 from the University of Liege (Belgium). He obtained his PhD thesis in 2010. He is recognised as a European Specialist in Laboratory Medicine (EuSpLM), and is currently the president of the Royal Belgian Society of Laboratory Medicine and chairman of the IFCC-IOF Committee for bone markers. He is also the General Secretary of the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO) and the vice-chair of the scientific advisory board of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). Professor Cavalier has published more than 450 scientific papers in peer-reviewed Journals indexed on Pubmed.
