Solving for tomorrow

The 26th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2026) will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and virtually from 26-31 July 2026. With pre-conferences starting on July 26, this landmark event arrives at a critical juncture for the global HIV response.

The conference theme, "Rethink. Rebuild. Rise.", reflects the urgent need for researchers, policy makers, and communities to unite in the face of unprecedented funding challenges and evolving health system needs.

The global challenge

Despite significant scientific progress, 1.3 million people acquired HIV and 630,000 died from AIDS-related causes in both 2023 and 2024. Furthermore, 9.2 million people living with HIV lacked access to life-saving medicines in 2024.

Roche’s commitment: Solving for tomorrow with accessible diagnostics as the backbone of care.

At Roche, we believe that everyone has the right to receive reliable diagnostics to help prevent, diagnose, monitor, and manage their health, regardless of where they live. Our commitment to global health is centered on bridging the access gaps that prevent people from receiving the care they need.

Our presence at AIDS 2026 focuses on three key priorities:

  • Delivering excellence: Capacity building and training healthcare workers to meet local needs.
  • Supporting ecosystems: Creating optimized networks for appropriate and timely diagnostic services.
  • Ensuring sustainability: Working with partners to secure continual funding and reinforce health systems.
