Roche at ECP 2026: Driving diagnostic certainty for life-changing decisions in pathology

Driving diagnostic certainty for life-changing decisions in pathology, ECP is the worldwide leading congress in pathology. This year’s theme, “Innovation Driving Excellence in Pathology”, showcases how pathology research is fueling vital advancements in diagnostics and clinical practice, creating the foundation for targeted therapies that are revolutionizing cancer and chronic disease care. ECP 2026 is dedicated to providing up-to-date insights into the whole spectrum of modern diagnostics, translational tools, and achievements that characterise pathology and its contribution to innovative diagnostics. Roche, as a global leader in oncology, personalised healthcare, and companion diagnostics, is a long-standing partner of the pathology community and a premium sponsor for this year’s meeting.

Roche booth #110 Hall B

As a global leader in companion diagnostics, we passionately believe that precision medicine has the power to radically transform lives. Throughout each patient’s cancer journey, diagnostic testing plays a critical role in supporting clinicians in making decisions that can lead to better outcomes.

Our exhibition this year will focus on highlighting high medical value innovations that help pathologists deliver the answers clinicians rely on to provide the highest standard of care. Roche medical and product experts will be on hand to discuss our portfolio across the pathology and molecular work areas.

Our immersive booth is a fantastic opportunity to meet our colleagues and explore how Roche is innovating and collaborating to drive diagnostic certainty for life-changing decisions across many cancers. We look forward to hosting several activities at ECP 2026 including Roche-sponsored educational symposia, meet the experts sessions and much more.

Roche ‘meet-the-expert’ sessions

We will be hosting seven meet-the-expert sessions at the Roche booth at ECP 2026, providing you with an opportunity to engage with key opinion leaders and some of our pharmaceutical partners to hear their experiences and perspectives in precision diagnosis, and whose therapeutic advancements are helping fuel our pipeline of innovative high medical value assays and AI-based clinical decision support solutions.

Together, let's continue advancing science and breaking down barriers to advance the practice of pathology, as we aim to provide attendees with opportunities to engage with our multifaceted program.

Agenda

Agenda

Sequencing by expansion (SBX)*, a versatile, high-throughput Single-Molecule Sequencing Technology for a variety of applications

Roche's sequencing by expansion (SBX) technology is characterized by high accuracy and sensitivity, which renders it highly valuable for applications in Oncology research. Prof. Dr. Edwin Cuppen will share their experience with SBX, encompassing detailed data analysis of paired tumor-normal Whole-Genome Sequencing (WGS). Additionally Alexander Robertson PhD, has employed SBX for WGS on matched tumor and normal plasma samples to demonstrate the feasibility of Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) detection through the tracking of known tissue mutations in plasma DNA. Featuring a discussion of the logistical considerations inherent to the distinct SBX workflow.

Speakers:

Prof. Dr. Edwin Cuppen, Roche-SBX for paired tumor-normal whole genome sequencing

Alexander Robertson PhD, Roche-SBX for detecting low levels of ctDNA with high accuracy
