Performance

Performance

cobas pulse is the only device on the market to meet all CLSI POCT12-A34 criteria. The CLSI guidelines are an internationally recognized standard developed by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute to ensure quality and accuracy in laboratory testing and procedures. CLSI POCT12-A3:2013 is the latest CLSI Guideline for “Point-of-Care Blood Glucose Testing in Acute and Chronic Care Facilities” and is targeted at professional testing, not patient self-testing.

For the evaluation of cobas pulse, a comprehensive multi-center study4 was conducted, encompassing all sample types from critically ill and non-critically ill patients across all age groups, as well as a study specifically focusing on capillary samples. In these studies, cobas pulse was compared to the Nova StatStrip using a Hexokinase reference method. The results were presented in a poster at EuroMedLab.3

cobas pulse has been developed with the goal to have a glucose meter that is free of interferences, fulfils the strictest performance criteria for all patients and sample types and digitally advances to a next level. cobas pulse device architecture and strip technology is entirely new and allows for an even better performance than the one of Accu-Chek Inform II.

In the multi-center evaluation study of cobas pulse, Nova StatStrip was also included. The results demonstrate that cobas pulse meets all CLSI criteria, unlike Nova StatStrip.3,4  The results were presented in a poster at EuroMedLab.3
