Dr. Ulla Ruffing is an experienced scientific leader and specialist microbiologist, currently serving as the Head of the Study Department for Lab Diagnostics and Biobank at MVZ Labor Dr. Limbach & Kollegen.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Ruffing built a robust portfolio in clinical microbiology, project management, and scientific consulting. She served in project management and sales within MVZ Labor Dr. Limbach, and previously held key roles across the SYNLAB network, including Microbiological Consultant for SYNLAB International GmbH and Specialist Microbiologist at MVZ SYNLAB Leverkusen GmbH. Additionally, she demonstrated early scientific leadership as the Deputy Head of Molecular Biology at the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene (IMMH) at Saarland University Hospital.
Dr. Ruffing’s strategic management career is built upon a highly distinguished academic and clinical foundation. She earned her doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene at Saarland University Hospital, following her comprehensive studies in Human and Molecular Biology at the University of Saarland. To further complement her clinical expertise, she completed advanced training as a specialist scientist in medical microbiology and infectious disease epidemiology, and holds a certification as a Lean Specialist (LCS level 2a) from the SYNLAB Lean Academy. She is also an active specialist member of the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology (DGHM).
