Terms of use: AI chatbot

Terms of Use

10 September 2026

The AI chatbot uses generative AI to help professionals quickly find technical information and troubleshooting related to Roche’s products. Before proceeding, please review the following terms regarding the operation of this chatbot and your responsibilities as a user.

1. Supportive, non-autonomous tool: The chatbot is designed as a supportive tool to assist you. It is not autonomous and does not make decisions on your behalf. Its core function is to suggest, propose, and rephrase product and technical guidance based on existing documentation. The information provided by the chatbot should not be taken as professional, legal, or medical advice. It does not replace official Instructions for Use (IFUs) or validated troubleshooting documentation.

2. Do not enter personal data: Please do not enter any personal data such as name, emails, or patient specific data while using the chatbot. Describe your situation or need without including any personal or sensitive information, as the chatbot is not designed to securely handle such data.

3. Data privacy: your conversations with the chatbot are not used for training the underlying AI model. Chatbot development and improvement are based on other sources of information, approved technical documentation and end-user feedback.

4. Verification of AI output and potential errors: AI models may sometimes "hallucinate" by generating responses that sound realistic and convincing, even when incorrect. Because the output can occasionally be inaccurate, the chatbot will always provide a direct link to the official source documents used to generate its response. Always validate any information provided by the chatbot, consult the provided source links, and defer to human professionals for important matters before making decisions.

5. Potential for outdated documentation: Please be aware that the chatbot relies on a knowledge base that is updated periodically. Therefore, it may occasionally use or reference outdated documentation that does not reflect the most recent updates available in our official source systems.

6. User responsibility and human oversight: Outputs from chatbot must not be used for automatic decision-making processes or automatic executions without human review. You, as a user of the chatbot, remain completely in control and hold full responsibility for any actions taken or decisions made.

7. Reporting product complaints and safety issues: This chatbot cannot be used for reporting product complaints or safety incidents. While the chatbot may detect and recommend reporting a Potentially Reportable Incident (PRI) or Potential Safety Issue (PSI), it does not autonomously log, file, or escalate these on your behalf. You must use the official channels, such as the Online Support system, to create a formal support case, which remains your sole responsibility.

8. Best Practices for chatbot Interaction: To achieve the most accurate and relevant responses, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Be specific and clear when describing your issue
  • Provide details and be as comprehensive as possible
  • Focus on one topic per question; if you have multiple questions, ask them one at a time.
