In-booth Talk - The Clinical Reality: NfL to Bridge the MRI Gap

Prof. Michael Khalil explored the clinical reality of monitoring adults with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) and demonstrated how to successfully bridge the "MRI gap" in clinical practice. Attendees learned how serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) serves as a complementary biological window to detect recent neuroaxonal injury when other clinical signals are quiet, and gained actionable insights on navigating physiological confounders and integrating age-adjusted percentiles into routine clinical decision-making.

In-booth Talk - Clinical utility of brain biomarkers in Traumatic Brain Injury

Dr. Vladislav Pavlov’s presentation provided an update on systematic reviews and meta-analyses regarding the established diagnostic utility of core blood-based biomarkers in Traumatic Brain Injury, like S100B, GFAP, and Nfl. Additionally, he presented available evidence on their potential prognostic value, as well on their usefulness for monitoring purposes. The presentation also introduced the recently developed CBI-M framework for the TBI classification.
