The test utilizes amplification of target RNA by RT-PCR and nucleic acid hybridization for the detection of 3 different FluA hemagglutinin gene variants in a single analysis. The test specifically identifies the current seasonal FluA H1pdm09, FluA H3 and the avian FluA H5 variants. FluA H1N1pdm09 is the dominant H1N1 variant circulating worldwide since 2009. en Viral RNA is analyzed by real-time PCR that amplifies and detects a 81 bp long fragment of the FluA H1 pdm09 gene in channel 01 using a Coumarin-labelled probe, a 108 bp long fragment of the FluA H3 gene in channel 02 using a FAM-labelled probe and a 99 bp long fragment of the FluA H5 gene in channel 03 using a HEX- labelled probe.
