We Are Roche: Community. Service. Give Back.

Celebrate our employees' contributions and collaborations with local organizations in 2023.

December 18, 2023

Behind our company's success are our employees, who help make up Roche's DNA.

We are grateful for our dedicated colleagues, who embody our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture and giving to local communities. Our success is driven by their efforts to simplify diagnostics for patients.

This year marked the 20th anniversary of Roche's Children's Walk. We take great pride in recognizing and celebrating the contributions of our employees and their collaborations with the organizations that are vital to our success. See below some of our 2023 highlights.

Roche's Alliance Development Program

Access to diagnostic tests is essential, but unfortunately, there are often barriers that prevent people from receiving proper testing. We work alongside various organizations to advocate for legislation and policies that would increase access and reduce barriers to diagnostic testing across various diseases.

However, simply having access to testing is not enough. It's also important to understand the diagnosis once it has been given. That's why we support two initiatives that aim to support and educate communities across the U.S. The Educating America Tour by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America and the National Cervical Cancer Summit by Cervivor. These events bring together leaders from across the healthcare continuum, advocates and individuals affected by these diseases to learn about brain and cervical health.

Engaged with 10 organizations to advocate for increased diagnostic testing access and reduced barriers across diseases.
The Week of Service is an annual event that brings together colleagues from across the U.S. This year, over 32 unique events were organized to allow colleagues to engage in various activities to create a positive impact in their communities. From volunteering at local shelters and community centers to participating in environmental conservation projects and being mentors to local students, there was something for everyone to contribute towards making a difference.

Roche Garden Club

To support the food-as-medicine initiative, Roche’s community garden club partnered with the Resource Hub Foundation, a Shalom Health Care Center partner, via local food banks. This initiative is part of the American Heart Association's Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol program, which provides food prescriptions to those who need healthy food.

Through this effort, employees working through our Roche Gives Back program can engage with colleagues and the community while focusing on being a source of fresh food for people in the local Indianapolis community.

Every day, people across the U.S. receive life-changing diagnoses. At Roche, we understand the importance of diagnostics, which is why we focus on developing new systems and assays to make a difference. To highlight the significance of regular disease screenings and relevant diagnostic tests, 21 colleagues who’ve experienced diseases that have impacted their lives share their stories in hopes of changing the ways we perceive and manage our health. The Uncommon Knowledge art exhibition, in partnership with the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA), features those 21 unique stories. Each story showcases a local literary or visual artist and highlights various disease states such as breast, colon, prostate and thyroid cancers; acute myeloid leukemia; human papillomavirus (HPV); long COVID-19; latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA); pernicious anemia; and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
