Roche Diagnostics at IDWeek 2023

Gold-standard PCR testing for the right treatment

Access to high-quality testing is crucial for patients and clinicians in enabling proper treatment. That's why Roche provides innovative testing solutions, including gold-standard PCR technology, to produce accurate and timely results that clinicians can confidently act on.

In these rapidly changing times, our test results provide certainty and enable clinicians to improve patient care across the entire healthcare continuum.

Come visit us at IDWeek in Boston, Mass, from October 11 to 15, 2023, to learn more about our PCR technology, including the cobas® liat system for point of care and multiplex testing on the ePlex® system. These solutions empower laboratories to strike a balance between efficiency, flexibility and simplicity, all in a compact footprint.

The journey toward a test to treat program for under served populations in New Mexico

Thursday, October 12, from 12:15 - 1:00 P.M. EST

Location: Exhibit hall learning lounge 4

Speaker: Karissa Culbreath, Ph.D., D(ABMM)

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the healthcare ecosystem evolved expeditiously and continuously in an effort to adapt and support the community, healthcare providers and patient needs. In order to help mitigate the spread of respiratory disease and avoid severe illness, hospitalization and death, there was an increase in Test-to-Treat Initiatives to expand access to timely treatment for certain patients. The aim of this session is to highlight Tricore Reference Labs proactive strategy to identify high–risk and socially vulnerable communities then connect them to care through their Test-to-Treat program.

Leveraging active diagnostic stewardship interventions to optimize the outcomes of patients with bacteremia

Saturday, October 14, from 11:15 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. EST

Location: Exhibit hall learning lounge 1

Speaker: Ryan Shields, PharmD

Incorporating rapid molecular tests is an important strategy to improve the outcomes of patients with bacteremia; however, optimal outcomes are realized only when rapid test results are partnered with stewardship interventions. In this talk, Dr. Shields will share insights gained through the implementation of a rapid multiplex syndromic panel for the identification of gram-positive bacteria (ePlex® Blood Culture Identification Gram-Positive Panel) in tandem with real-time antimicrobial stewardship interventions which resulted in improved antimicrobial use and patient outcomes.

Helping clinicians improve patient care with multiplex molecular diagnostics on the ePlex® System

The ePlex® System is an automated approach to syndromic infectious disease testing for multiple disease states, including respiratory and bloodstream infections.
