  • A novel sequencing approach: Sequencing by expansion (SBX) is a next-generation sequencing technology that uses a biochemical conversion process to encode the sequence of a target nucleic acid molecule into a more easily measurable surrogate polymer, called an Xpandomer. By expanding the space between high signal-to-noise nucleotide reporter codes to a length more than 50 times longer than the parent DNA molecule, Xpandomers enable accurate single-molecule sequencing.

  • High accuracy and speed: SBX delivers high accuracy and speed, with the ability to sequence seven human genomes in one hour and real-time base calling that can significantly reduce time from sample to data.

  • Flexibility: SBX technology’s versatility is demonstrated by its two distinct workflows—SBX-D (duplex) for high-accuracy applications and SBX-S (simplex) for ultra-high-throughput applications—that allow for tunable output and read lengths.
