Despite advancements in diagnostics and treatment, tuberculosis remains the number one infectious disease cause of mortality with 36% of infected patients remaining undiagnosed or unreported. Comorbidities with HIV and hepatitis, and drug resistance further challenge the diagnostic progress. Tuberculosis is a multi-faceted problem that needs to be addressed with diagnostics strategies tailored for the setting.
We will welcome patient advocate Rhea Lobo to tell her story and moderate a discussion around access to tuberculosis diagnostics.
