We Are Roche: 2024 – Community, Service and Giveback

Saluting our U.S. Diagnostics colleagues for their generous community spirit

Roche proudly celebrates the generous community spirit of our U.S. Diagnostics colleagues. Through initiatives such as the Children’s Walk, Career Quest, Week of Service, and engaging art exhibitions, we are committed to making a positive impact locally and globally. These efforts reflect our dedication to fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments both within our workplaces and the broader community. Join us in recognizing these incredible endeavors below that continue to uplift and inspire

Children's Walk

For more than 20 years, Roche has come together by holding innumerous walks at individual sites all around the world.  Each walk supports a local children’s charity and the funds raised to support them are then matched to international projects impacting youth in countries like Malawi, Cambodia, Ethiopia and India. This year in the U.S. we had over 1,000 walkers across seven sites in four states walk to support eight incredible charities.

Career Quest

Since 2020, Roche Diagnostics sites have been inviting high school students interested in biotechnology careers onto their campuses to spend a full day learning all about potential career paths, helping to translate their interests and skills into future STEM jobs. They do this through interactive workshops, career stations and lunch with leaders.

This event, previously named STEM Careers Day, has expanded to all our major U.S. Diagnostics sites, working towards leveling the playing field across our communities to ensure that all students interested in pursuing STEM careers have access to experiential learning opportunities. As a company, Roche is committed to creating environments that are diverse, equitable and inclusive within the workplace and their communities.

Week of Service

Roche’s Week of Service is the quintessential volunteer event of the year at Roche Diagnostics.  This year,  Community Engagement teams organized over 36 unique service events for colleagues to choose from in Arizona, California, Indiana and New Jersey.

From volunteering at local food banks and community gardens to building homes and refreshing nonprofit buildings along with helping uplift struggling kids, families, veterans and other at-risk populations, so many employees stepped into their neighborhoods to make a difference.

Art Exhibitions

What started at the Tissue Diagnostics site in Arizona as a local, quarterly art showcase open to the public, has expanded to the curation of art events that tie to our business and engage our employees, many with a U.S. wide reach.

This year, two exhibitions stand out. The first was an nationwide employee photography exhibition centered around the theme of nighttime, with stunning results.

The second thought-provoking show, Inside Out, Outside In,  focused on the human body's intricate and diverse architecture and consisted of imagery related to individual organs and body parts, from the heart and brain to muscles and blood vessels and bones and beyond.

Accompanying the exhibit was important educational information on the most prevalent cancers that can infiltrate the body, helping to share information with the general public about cancer prevalence, screenings as well as signs and symptoms.
