L’utilisation de cet anticorps est indiquée pour faciliter l’identification des précurseurs érythroïdes dans la moelle osseuse et la détermination de la leucémie myéloïde aiguë et du syndrome myélodysplasique (MDS) dans le contexte d’une gamme d’anticorps, des antécédents cliniques du patient et d’autres tests diagnostiques évalués par un pathologiste qualifié.", "Language": "fr", "Country": "XG", "Code": "Intended Use" }, { "Name": "Background Information", "Value": "CD71, also known as transferrin receptor, is a membrane glycoprotein that mediates the uptake of iron from transferrin for hemoglobin synthesis in erythroid cells.1 Early erythroid precursors and erythroblasts contain the highest mass of transferrin receptors, and expression is lost as these cells cease hemoglobin synthesis and mature into erythrocytes.1 Therefore, anti-CD71 is a useful marker for highlighting erythroid precursors in bone marrow specimens.2 Increased CD71 expression is also associated with active cell growth including neoplastic tumor growth and may be seen in various carcinomas such as thyroid carcinomas, lung carcinomas, breast carcinomas, hepatocellular carcinomas and colorectal carcinomas.3

In general, immunohistochemical staining allows the visualization of antigens via the sequential application of a specific antibody (primary antibody) to the antigen, a secondary antibody (link antibody) to the primary antibody, an enzyme complex and a chromogenic substrate with interposed washing steps. The enzymatic activation of the chromogen results in a visible reaction product at the antigen site. The specimen may then be counterstained and a coverslip applied. Results are interpreted using a light microscope and aid in the differential diagnosis of pathophysiological processes, which may or may not be associated with a particular antigen.

This antibody is optimally diluted to be compatible with VENTANA detection kits and BenchMark IHC/ISH instruments. Refer to the Tables in the Instructions for Use section for recommended staining protocols. Each step in the staining protocol includes incubation for a precise time at a specifi c temperature. At the end of each incubation step, the sections are rinsed by the BenchMark IHC/ISH instruments to stop the reaction and remove unbound material that would hinder the desired reaction in subsequent steps.
